Several non surgical services are offered at the Riou Plastic Surgery Center.  Lasers for aging skin, spider veins, tatoo and hair removal are available by appointment.

Botox injection (Botulinun A) is also another popular non-surgical procedure, which is extremely effective in treating frown lines and crow's feet.  The medicine has long been used by neurologist for the treatment of muscle spasm and has proven to be safe.  It is injected in the small muscles above the nose, between the brows as well as around the eyes to selectively paralyze their function.  This dramatically "erases" dynamic wrinkles.  The effect lasts 3-10 months and patients invariably return for more, since there is essentially no "down time".

Other non surgical interventions available include "filler-agents" such as collagen injections to correct facial wrinkles, acne scars or deformities from trauma.  The collagen does get reabsorbed with time, so repeat treatment are often required.  However because it does not require surgery and there is little recovery it remains a popular option.
